Dave Marchant (Marketing Director)

Dave is a very highly experienced Oracle and Unix Administrator, and has worked as a consultant for a wide range of large organisations, including the National Trust and the Deutsche Bank. Before this, he worked in the semiconductor industry for ten years, firstly as a Service Engineer and then as a Service Manager

Dave soon widened his skills into the marketing of IT solutions, and gained an MBA and a DipM in business and marketing. Dave is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Member of the British Computer Society, and is a firm practitioner of the codes of conduct of both institutions.

In 1992 Dave founded Elm Computing in order to promote the use of new technologies in smaller companies, to bring them the same competitive advantages as larger organisations. Through Elm Computing, he hopes that the valuable skills held by his team of consultants will become accessible to a wider clientele.

Dave's current focus is the promotion and marketing of Elm Computing's web-based,enterprise-wide business solution. This exciting new product enables companies of any size to manage their clients and orders securely through the Internet.

Darren Morgan (Senior Consultant)

Darren has been working for over five years as an IT consultant and developer. Before that he was a teacher of IT and Modern Languages for over four years. Our customers tell us that Darren is skilled at listening to their business needs, and we feel this is partly due to his educational experience.

He has helped dozens of small to medium enterprises to improve their handling of business information. Very often, these companies have benefitted from new database systems, usually to keep track of customers and their orders.

For other businesses, he has created custom financial spreadsheets or Intranet web sites. Darren's experience ranges from helping a small business owner to publish his products online, to producing a financial reports system for an international transport company. Darren's most recent project was a web based Customer Relations Management system for a travel agency.

Darren has been heavily involved with the Microsoft IT Academy program, and established the first Regional Specialist Academy in Wales. Darren is himself a Microsoft Office Master Instructor, and also a PGCE qualified teacher.
